The Donner Lake Triathlon makes Triathlon History!
Only a handful of triathlons ever survive 25 years of competition. Like many movies and music of today, at this year's event, we will recreate the "Donner Party" like never before. This time, the outcome will be cheerful, bright, and positive. And most importantly, we will assure that everyone makes it over the summit.
Being that it is the 25th Anniversary of the event, all events will take place on one day so that everyone can be present for the celebration. And what a celebration we have in store for you...
Donner Lake Triathlon-Sunday, July 16, 2006.
The 2006 Donner Lake Triathlon includes two great events: a sprint triathlon and an international distance triathlon. Both races will take place on Sunday, July 16th at the West End Beach of Donner Lake. The sprint triathlon starts at 7:00 a.m. and the international triathlon starts at 7:30 a.m. Both events will conclude with a special 25th anniversary finisher's medal, lunch and fun in the sun.
The Donner Lake Triathlon is held at the West End Beach of Donner Lake. The lake features clear, calm, fresh water; the bike and run courses offer glimpses of the lake, Donner Summit, the surrounding mountains and plenty of pine trees. The event provides you with the chance to not only compete in a beautiful setting, but a chance to take a mini-vacation with the entire family or friends!
