Gobble, Gobble!
Turkey Trot entry forms are being gobbled up as we speak. This can only lead us to believe that this year's "Sweet Sixteen' party is on schedule to be the biggest ever. The Davis Turkey Trot will take place on November 22nd and the Early Registration cut-off date is quickly approaching - October 31st will be the last day for early registration. The current entry fee for the 5K or 10K is $20.00, but come November 1, it increases to $22.00
We do want to remind those wishing to winterize your entry by upgrading to a long-sleeve t-shirt are also encouraged to do so soon. The long sleeve upgrade option is only available through November 7th.
Attention Kids.... don't forget to remind your parents about the Davis Turkey Tot Kids Runs. Currently, this awesome spectacle is Northern California's largest Kids-only race. The event offers the choice of a 1/4 or 1/2 mile run that provides great entertainment for the entire family. Pre-registration is just $12 and includes a t-shirt, finisher's ribbon, refreshments and entry to our huge kids' fun area featuring multiple inflatibles, arts & crafts, and interactive games.

The Davis Turkey Trot will continue to benefit the Yolo County Food Bank and assist in their efforts to alleviate hunger and malnutrition in Yolo County. Your participation in the Davis Turkey Trot is not only a fun way to exercise, it benefits a great cause. The event also encourages participants to take part in a canned food drive taking place on event day. Bring a canned item to the event and support their cause.
One last note for the Turkey Trot: Be sure to check out the A Change of Pace booth at the Turkey Trot where 16 years of history (event shirts actually) will be available. That's right, we're cleaning house on all past race shirts, awards, and accummulated items of past years. These garments can be considered classics, and prices start at just 50 cents each. All items are on a first come-first serve basis.
Looking forward to the holidays? Plan a get-a-way from your busy holiday shopping with a fun and festive 5-Mile Run or Walk in Davis. The Reindeer Crossing takes place Saturday, December 13th and features a festive event with all the trimmings. After the event, join us for some post-race eggnog, hot chocolate and holiday cheer. The event helps support a local "Santa for Kids" toy drive. Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy (value $2-$5) to the event. Toys will be distributed to needy families within Yolo County. Each toy you bring earns you entry into our holiday raffle, with the grand prize being a $100 gift certificate to Fleet Feet - Davis. A special Kids EggNog Jog 1/4 Mile Fun Run will also take place at the event for kids 12 and under.

2004 is only 10 weeks away and the official kick-off to the running season in the Northern California begins with the annual Davis Stampede. The Stampede enters it's 22nd season and is one of the longest running events in the State.
