Dear Participant,

Thank you for pre-registering for the 10th Annual Marti Nelson Stride for Life Run/Walk. The event will take place this Sunday, October 23rd at Centennial Park in Vacaville. Following is important race information:

SATURDAY PACKET PICK UP

Packet Pick-up will be available tomorrow, Saturday, October 22nd, at Fleet Feet Sports in Vacaville. Pick up times are from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Fleet Feet will also be accepting registrations during this time, so please encourage your friends and family to join you in having a great time. Fleet Feet Sports is located at 354 Merchant Street in Downtown Vacaville.

RACE LOCATION

The Stride for Life event will be taking place at Vacaville’s Centennial Park. All races will start and finish here. Centennial Park offers plenty of free parking and is located at 501 Browns Valley Parkway, just a few minutes north of I-80. Visit changeofpace.com for a map.

>From I-80 Westbound (Davis/Sacramento): Exit at Monte Vista Avenue. At the end of the off ramp (at the stop light) go straight. You will now be on Browns Valley Parkway. Continue on Browns Valley Parkway for just over one mile, and the entrance to Centennial Park will be on your right. Follow the Event Parking signs.

>From I-80 Eastbound (Fairfield): Exit at Allison Drive. At the end of the off ramp, turn left on Allison Drive and head over I-80. Continue on Allison Drive until it meets up with Browns Valley Parkway. Continue straight as this is the entrance of Centennial Park

IMPORTANT TIMES

On Sunday, October 23rd (race morning), both the 5K/10K will begin at 8:30 am with the kid’s fun run taking place at 10:00 am. Race day registration/late packet pick-up opens at 7:00 am. Please arrive early & give yourself ample time before the race start.

PLEDGES/PLACARDS AT THE MARTI NELSON BOOTH

Donations and pledge contributions will be collected at the Marti Nelson Breast Cancer Research Foundation booth. “In Support of” and “In Memory of” placards will also be available here.

RAFFLE PRIZES

We will also be hosting a Free “big spin” raffle featuring several prizes from local businesses. All registered participants are eligible, but must be present to win. In addition to the spin raffle, our annual Stride for Life Mountain Bike Raffle will be available for $1.00/ticket. Tickets for the bike raffle will be available at the Marti Nelson booth with all proceeds going directly to the Marti Nelson Cancer Foundation. The bike winner need not be present to win

5K/10K AWARDS

The awards ceremony will take place shortly after the kids run at about 10:15 a.m. Fantastic awards courtesy of Fleet Feet Vacaville and New Balance include technical long and short sleeve running t-shirts, jackets and water bottles, as well as custom Stride for Life medallions. Awards will be given three-deep in each age division.

VOLUNTEERS

Have a friend who wants to attend the event with you, but isn’t up to participating in the run or walk? Encourage them to volunteer. Volunteering is fun and easy and is a great way to support the cause. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, compliments of Kaiser Permanente, as well as race morning refreshments. A volunteer check in booth will be set up near the registration area. Volunteer activities include helping at registration, handing out water or t-shirts to the runners, etc.
