As summertime is now in full swing, we hope this email finds you happy and healthy.

We are in the final stages of preparation for our 25th celebration of the Donner Lake Triathlon. This year's event will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Truckee. If you have always been wondering what the Donner Lake Triathlon is all about, this is a great year to give it a try. Aside from the breathtaking views and challenging terrain, this year's event will include 25th anniversary finisher's medals, unique to this year only. The Donner Lake Tri includes both an international distance triathlon (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10.5K run) and a sprint triathlon (1/4 mile swim, 6 mile bike, 2 mile run). All events start and finish at the West End Beach of Donner Lake.

Triathlon season is always a fun one for us, and nothing quite compares to the pinnacle of our summer triathlon season: our Davis Kids Triathlon. This event, which started with a respectable 350 participants and has since grown to be the largest kids triathlon in the USA with over 1,000 participants, is a first-class fun event for any and all kids ages 3-17 years old.

Our courses are designed with finishing in mind - the focus of the event is on reaching the finish line and building self esteem, rather than on finish place or time. We have made the distances for each age group very achievable for kids of all athletic abilities.

After the races, participants, proudly wearing their finisher's medals, and their families, are invited to enjoy our post race area, which includes live music, a double-inflatable slide, food, arts & crafts, snow cones for all kids, a raffle, booths, games and more.

This event does sell out, and due to safety reasons, once we reach the field limit we cannot accept any more registrations. We strongly encourage you to pre-register your children. For families with two or more siblings participating, we offer a sibling discount. All entries include a race t-shirt, water bottle, goody bag, finisher's medal, post race food and eligibility for raffle prizes.
