Beneficiaries

The 22nd Annual Davis Turkey Trot is organized by the A Change of Pace Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization.

Our mission is to provide fun, safe exercise-oriented events in our community. In particular, we strive to get kids out and moving. As more elementary schools are forced to eliminate formal physical education programs due to budget cuts, exercise is becoming more scarce at school.

Proceeds from the Davis Turkey Trot will be used to fund after-school running programs in Yolo County. In conjunction with our corporate sponsors and grants received for this project, we hope to make an impact in elementary schools. With Type II Diabetes and childhood Obesity on the rise, it is crucial we get our youth up off the couch and into some running shoes.

In addition to our youth exercise programs outlined above, the Davis Turkey Trot also provides a portion of its proceeds to the UC Davis Men's Rowing Team and the UC Davis Women's Lacrosse Team. Both these teams are "Club" teams that do not receive funding from the University, like an Intercollegiate team receives. We are proud to be able to support these two outstanding programs.
