Who Can Participate?:People of all ages and athletic abilities can participate in the event. Our variety of distances offer an event for every age and ability.

Courses: The 5K, 10K and 1 Mile Courses are loop courses that start and finish at Davis' Central Park. The 5K and 10K start at the corner of 6th and C Streets and finish southbound on B Street just south of 7th Street. They are flat and are 100% paved (asphalt). Approximately half takes place along North Davis' greenbelts. The 1 Mile Fitness Walk is a flat loop course that starts on B Street near Civic Center Pool, and finish at the main finish line on B Street. The 3K Relay is a 1K course where team of three each complete two 0.5K legs. (see below)

Chipotle 3K Relay Challenge: The Freshest Meal Deal in Town!

Forget the phrase "Three's a crowd." It takes three to tango for this event. Each participant is required to complete two 1/2K legs (6 total baton exchanges) for a combined 3K distance (1.8 miles).

Use this event as an introduction to the Davis Turkey Trot, or as a post-5K encore. The 3K Relay doesn't start until 10:30, so 5K and 10K participants alike are welcome to compete. For this reason, we're offering a no-shirt option for 3K Relay entrants - so if you're also registered for the 5K, you won't be toting back two shirts. Best of all, every entrant in the Chipotle 3K Relay received a complimentary Chipotle burrito meal certificate ($9 value). All 3K entrants will automatically be entered in a special raffle to win a "Chipotle burrito a week for an entire year" voucher - valued at $500.

Awards will be presented to the top teams in each of the four divisions (see below).

Awards & Age Divisions:

Awards will be presented in the Baby Jogger Run/Walk to the top male/female finishers. Awards will also be presented to the top 3 finishers per age division in the 5K and 10K events. Age Divisions for the 5K/10K are: 9 & Under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.

An awards pick up tent will be set up on race day. 5K awards will be available for pick up by 10:00 a.m. 10K awards available for pick up by 11:00 a.m. Those unable to pick up awards on event day may pick them up at Fleet Feet Davis starting on Monday, November 23rd and continuing through December 31st, 2009. Awards are not mailed.

The 3K Relay has four divisions- three combined-age divisions and an open Corporate division. To determine your division, add up the ages of the three participants on the team. Awards will be presented to the top three teams per division and prizes include Chipotle T-shirts, custom burrito plaques and complimentary entry to the 2010 3K Relay. The divisions are as follows:

• Combined age 35 or less
• Combined age 36-66
• Combined age 67+ years
• Open Corporate (no age requirements).

The Kids Fun Runs and the 1 Mile Walk are not timed or scored. All finishers in the Kid’s Runs will receive a finisher’s ribbon.

All Participants Receive: Each entry includes a 100% cotton short sleeve race t-shirt and commemorative bib number. Refreshments are provided to all in our post-race expo area, as well as live music and a huge kids play area. We are "going green" and so in an effort to eliminate plastic from our landfills, are no longer doing goody bags.

Chip Timing: The 2009 5K & 10K events will be timed using RFID chip technology courtesy of Capital Road Race Management.

Volunteers: Over 500 volunteers from the community help make the annual Davis Turkey Trot possible. Individuals and groups interested in volunteering may contact Jeannine Henderson for more info.

Professional Photography: The Davis Turkey Trot will have multiple professional photographers from brightroom.com along the course as well as at the start & finish to capture your image as you participate in the event. Safety Rules for All Entrants: Bikes, in-line skates, trikes, scooters and pets (except seeing-eye dogs) are not permitted. The use of ipods, walkmans etc. are strongly discouraged for your safety (so that you can hear directions from announcers, Police, volunteers, etc). Unregistered walkers, runners or pacers are not permitted on the race course. Strollers and baby joggers are only permitted in the Baby Jogger 5K and in the 1 Mile Fitness walk. Wheelchairs are permitted in all distances. Racing wheelchairs in the 5K and 10K should notify start line official so that

Entry Information:

Standard Entry Includes: 100% Cotton short sleeve t-shirt, commemorative bib number, chip timing (5K and 10K), finisher's ribbon (Kid's Runs only), eligibility for awards (5K/10K) and raffles. Each entrant in the 3K Chipotle Relay will also receive a Chipotle burrito certificate.

T-shirt Upgrades: You may upgrade your t-shirt to either a Technical Short Sleeve T-shirt or a Cotton Long Sleeve T-shirt. The cost for the upgrade is an additional $5.00. The Technical and Long Sleeve shirts are only available in Adult sizes S-XL. All upgrades must be pre-ordered no later than November 11th. Technical shirts are offered in unisex sizing.

Entry Confirmation: Entries are not confirmed by mail or email. Those registering online will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation of entry. For your convenience, a list of registered participants will be posted on this site ("Home" tab) starting on October 1st.

Packet Pick Up: Packets include your bib number, timing chip (5K/10K) and t-shirt . You may pick up your packet either at our Packet Pick Up on Friday, November 20, from 11am to 5pm in the courtyard across the street from FLEET FEET SPORTS - DAVIS (615 2nd Street); or on Race Day, at Civic Center Field (Race site). Packets may not be mailed. A friend/family member may pick your packet for you at Packet Pick Up if you desire.

Online Registration: There is a surcharge to register online. This year we have switched online registration services to Event Brite, as their surcharge fees are much lower than the other companies out there. The surcharge is a "convenience fee" that is collected by the credit cards / online registration company. If you wish to avoid the surcharge, we suggest registering either via US Mail or at Fleet Feet Sports in Davis.

Refund Policy: All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Event happens rain or shine.
