Brought to you by A Change of Pace, the organizers of the California Kids Triathlon, the Positive Energy Kids Triathlon will debut on June 10, 2007 at the Arroyo Pool in West Davis.
Open to all boys and girls ages 4-15, the Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is the second official stop on the 2007 Positive Energy Tour. The Positive Energy Tour is a program designed to provide fun and safe opportunities for exercise for children. The Positive Energy Tour is a program of the A Change of Pace Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing kids with the opportunity to exercise and maintain healthy lifestyles. As today’s children are less fit and more prone to childhood obesity than ever, the Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is an opportunity for kids to start their summer off with a healthy, fun outdoor activity.
With distances tailored specifically to each age group, the Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is designed to be an achievable event for all kids, with the focus on participation and finishing, not on finish time or order. While finish times will be recorded, we strive to make the focus of the event on participation, not how fast a child finishes. All finishers will receive an official medal after crossing the finish line.
The Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is the official ‘warm up’ for the annual California Kids Triathlon. The California Kids Triathlon, also held in Davis, takes place on August 12th at the UC Davis Campus, and is the largest kids triathlon in the entire United States, with 1,000 participants.
The Positive Energy Kids Triathlon is limited to the first 450 participants. We expect the event to sell out in advance of race weekend and we strongly encourage you to pre-register your child as early as possible.
